About SwapMonero

5 questions

SwapMonero is a non-custodial Monero exchange. You can swap other coins into XMR, or XMR into other coins, with no account and no sign-up. Hundreds of coins are supported, and the coins you get go straight to the wallet address you enter.

Did this answer it?

In three steps. Pick the coin you send and the coin you want; the rate refreshes every 30 seconds. Paste the wallet address that should receive the coins. Then send your deposit to the address shown on screen and follow the swap with your order ID.

Did this answer it?

You can watch every step yourself. Your swap gets an order ID that you can follow in the tracker, the deposit leaves a wallet you control, and the payout lands in a wallet you control. If you are new, start with a small swap, above the minimum for the pair.

Did this answer it?

No. SwapMonero has no accounts, so there is no sign-up form and no password to remember. To start a swap you need the coins and the address that will receive them. There is no ID upload.

Did this answer it?

There is no KYC to start a swap: no ID upload, no selfie, no documents. In rare cases, an automated compliance check can hold a swap or refund it. If that happens to an order on SwapMonero, open a support ticket with your order ID.

Transactions

7 questions

Open the wallet for the coin you will receive and look for Receive. It shows an address you can copy. Every coin has its own format: a standard Monero address starts with 4 and is 95 characters long, and Monero subaddresses start with 8.

Your own wallet address for the coin you get. Swapping BTC for XMR? Paste a Monero address. Swapping XMR for BTC? Paste a Bitcoin address. A wrong or mismatched address can mean lost coins, so paste it instead of typing it and check the first and last characters.

Did this answer it?

It depends on network confirmations. Most swaps finish within minutes. Bitcoin swaps usually take 10 to 30 minutes, since a new Bitcoin block comes about every 10 minutes. A busy network can add time.

Did this answer it?

It is the ID a blockchain gives to a single transfer: a long string of letters and numbers. Your wallet shows it after you send the deposit. Look it up in a block explorer for that coin to watch the confirmations come in, and add it to any support ticket.

Did this answer it?

It is the reference number for your swap on SwapMonero. You get it as soon as you create the swap. Enter it in the tracker on the home page to see where the swap stands, and include it whenever you contact support.

Did this answer it?

No. Once your deposit is on the blockchain, nobody can reverse it. Before you send, check the pair, the amount and the receiving address one more time.

Did this answer it?

Try to send the exact amount. The quote is based on the amount you entered, so a different deposit can change what you receive or hold the swap. Never send less than the minimum shown for the pair. If the amounts don't match, open a support ticket with your order ID.

Fees & Rates

4 questions

Check the quote before you confirm. The swap form shows the rate and how much you get for the amount you send, so you can compare the final number before anything moves. Your wallet also pays its usual network fee when you send the deposit.

Did this answer it?

Every blockchain charges a fee to move coins. When you send the deposit, your wallet pays that fee, and it goes to the network, not to us. Most wallets add it on top of the amount; some take it out of the amount. Make sure the full amount you entered is what reaches the deposit address.

Did this answer it?

A fixed rate is locked for the whole swap, so you know the amount you will get before you send. A floating rate follows the market while the swap runs, so the final amount can come out higher or lower. Pick fixed if you want certainty; pick floating if you are fine with some movement.

Did this answer it?

Every pair has its own minimum and maximum. The form shows both before you confirm, so check them each time. If your amount falls outside that range, change it before you send anything.

Security & Privacy

4 questions

Not much. With no account, there is no name, password or profile to fill in. A swap needs the address that receives the coins, the deposit you send and, if you want, a refund address. The privacy policy explains how site data is handled.

Did this answer it?

No account balance is kept here. The service is non-custodial: your deposit is used for one swap, and the coins you get go straight to the address you entered. Nobody needs your seed phrase or private keys, so keep them to yourself.

Did this answer it?

Privacy is built into Monero itself. Ring signatures hide the real sender among decoys, stealth addresses give every payment a one-time address, and RingCT hides the amount. These are features of the Monero network, not of any exchange.

Did this answer it?

That depends on where you live. Crypto swaps are allowed in many countries but not in all of them, and the rules change. You are responsible for following your local law, and the terms of service forbid illegal use.

Support

4 questions

In the tracker on the home page. Enter your order ID to see the current stage of the swap, from waiting for your deposit to completed.

Did this answer it?

Look up your order ID in the tracker first. Waiting for network confirmations is the usual reason, and a Bitcoin swap usually takes 10 to 30 minutes. In rare cases, an automated compliance check holds a swap. If the status has not changed for much longer than expected, open a support ticket with your order ID and the TX hash of your deposit.

Did this answer it?

It depends on which address. Coins sent anywhere other than the deposit address shown for your swap can't be recovered by us. If you paid the right deposit address but typed the wrong receiving address, open a support ticket right away with your order ID. Once the payout is sent, it can't be pulled back.

Did this answer it?

Open a ticket on the support page. Leave an email address for the reply and add your order ID, so your swap can be found quickly.

Start a new swap from the home page, or look up an existing one with its order ID. For anything else, open a ticket on the support page.
